Sitting in Michael's Lap

Hehe ... a cute little trackball with cool little lights that change color ... hey, what can I say, Mike and I are magpies when it comes to anything that shines ... *shrug*

But the funniest thing about this little gadget was the "propaganda" printed on the back of it -- Mike and I nearly veered off the highway laughing while reading it on the way home from the store:

"The Crystal Trackball features an illuminated center globe that gives off a radiant red hue when in use and a green hue when you click the buttons.  (Oooh ... aaahhh)    This visual special effect (huh?) is a great compliment to the many other features of the Crystal Trackball, like it's user-friendly adaptability for right or left hand (yawn), 3 micro switched buttons with approximately one million cycle lifetime (oh, YAY!), and a tracking speed of 500 mm per second (whoopee!), plus many more (have yet to find the "many more," but I'm still looking ...).  Oh yes, the Crystal Trackball saves space as well! In that it is about 4X the size of a normal mouse???)

Sigh.  I was waiting for the infomercial announcer to jump in with "But wait, there's more!" and say that there's a slicer/dicer/potato peeler that comes with this AMAZING PRODUCT, along with a FREE copy of the "Cabbage for Colon Health" cookbook ... and it ALL can be YOURS for the LOW, LOW price of $19.99 (+5.99 S&H) ...

I mean hey, I LIKE the thing, but they really need to hire someone more qualified to run their marketing department ... preferably someone who has actually left their house at least twice in the last 25 years.  I know, I know ... picky picky ... but who am I to talk, right?  I bought the damn thing!  *wink*

Hey!! I know that marketing ploy!!! I bought a handy dandy little "Crystal Trackball" about a year ago, and yes it does do the red and green thing (how utterly cool...yeah right!). I never read the back of the package. Now I see what I missed in the way of a laugh factor!! LOL. The only reason I wanted it was so I wouldn't have to deal with the mousepad anymore. It was a literal 'drag'. It does take up more space, but geez...ain't it cute?!! Rotfl....

How can you save me?
When the dark comes right in and takes me,
from my front walk and into bed,
where it kisses my face and eats my head. Shivaree

You'd think with the name 'Crystal' they would put all kinds of wizardly things on the package.

It probably didn't tell you that it would cause 'hand and ball' disease did it???

Oh, Are they gonna throw in a bonus piece if you buy it at a certain time?

eeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwww trackballs are evil.

Though this thread makes me feel a little more sane: I'm not the only person who reads aloud blurbs on packaging for humor's sake.

Heh. And Infomercials are GREAT fun... hehehehe...
