I know we've discussed this issue before, but not for a long time. I wonder if you think we are seeing just more poetry or more quality poetry on the forums?

in my forum, there's actually a big drop in posts

I've noticed a few regulars are posting less. Wondered if they were in a 'snit' about the bump thing.

Well...I know that I don't post that much poetry anyway. I love the unbump, but it doesn't affect me as I am able to write about three poems in the same amount of months.

But enough about me...we are getting more and more members...maybe the regulars don't appear to be posting more because there are so many others posting as well? (Not that there's anything wrong with others posting!)

It seems to me that it's proportionately aligned... We have a few poets and a few of them are really good... We have a plethora of poets and an equal proportion of the plethora is exeptional...

i am here reading a lot more than i can write
and shy about responding a lot
i sure wish i could write more
but it just won't come out of me easy
i am still a baby in poetry
i like those challenge and game words
pick words from a magic hat
and when sven was giving us a lesson on different kinds of poems that helped me to write something sometime

Personally, I think that less is more. I don't post a whole lot, so it means a lot more when I DO post. I'm mostly a "reply" girl, I guess.

As for the rest of the forums, there are a lot of new members, and some of them aren't very experienced. Maybe that's why it seems that the number of poems from experienced writers seems to be down. Just my two cents...

well I'm posting less because i feel the reader takes my poems for granted because I post on a regular basis......so I'm stopping that.

Yeah..
Well I know I post a lot less now than when I first came here.. I WRITE a lot less too.. in fact I haven't posted for ages, so probably it's about time I did.. I haven't really got as much time on my hands as I used too.. so I haven't been writing as much as I would like to..
Well, I reckon the quality is fine, because there are some really great poets here, and those that maybe aren't so great are enthusiastic. So that's great. ^^

Lynne

What's the definition of quality here?

It's pretty frustrating for me, with my schedule I just don't have time to sit and reply a bunch to people's poetry. Don't get me wrong, I read a ton because I love the stuff, but actually replying doesn't get done too often. I hate just putting "Good job" on 5 poems in a row, I think it's a waste of time. I'd rather reply to only a few and say something a bit more meaningful. Because of this, no one really knows who I am, or responds to my poetry much. Not that I blame them, I know people respond in kind. I don't really know what the point of this is, but it's my two cents worth anyway lol.

I am not sure if "Time" is the reasoning behind anything....for me the poetry is always in me, if I am here or elsewhere and when I have a poem ready in mind, it almost writes itself...the time is only in the reading and responding for me...and if I am going to post I make sure I respond either before or after to a half dozen or more poems....sometimes those with one or no responses further down the board. And Saxoness, I read yours...I don't think people just respond because one responds to them( although it makes you noticed whenyou do)...but I agree that if I can't think of something to say I wait until another time to respond. I think it has to do with mood and if you feel you can respond properly. There are many new poets on, and I am enjoying them . But I have also noticed elsewhere that the amount of posts are down so I think it's the time of year...just my opinion...and I am like EagleOne...the quality depends on the readers interpretation. ~S~

I may leave for a few days or a week, but am back. If I'm not posting a poem, I'm replying. I too like to make my replies personal. I couldn't live with myself if all I said was 'nice poem' I try to put a bit of a spin on it. Otherwise, right, I just don't reply.

I try to skip around and get the taste of all of Passions.

But usualy, you'll find me residing now in the Corner Pub.

Here too I guess.

I see plenty of quality poems still.

Enough of this rambling. I'm exhausting myself.
