For a dialogue forum, this one always seems remarkably silent....y'all communicating in some silent language, maybe telepathy or something, that I'm not hearing/seeing/understanding? Ok I'm going to start a conversation. I've been reading about Taoism. Anyone have anything to say about Taoism? If not, I'm happy to talk about the weather also :-p hehe cmon guys TALK!!! ~Liz~ |

ok.. I'll bite.. I heard today about a book being published which spoke of the "mental disorder" which drove people to write or feel they had to write in a compulsive way.. sort of the opposite of writers black, there were constant words and idea being generated in the persons haed and they were driven to writ ethem down.. sounded so familiar to me..I finally realized that all those years I had been saying I was crazy..had been validated or were being validated by the book raising the drive to write and the feelings you had to capture something on paper as a mental disorder... the author also said 70% of poets exhibit bi-polar symptoms.. no wonder you guys all seem so crazy to me... lmao.. (jk) |

Bi-polar? Isn't that where you don't know whether you're at the North Pole or the South Pole? A couple ways to tell the difference: Santa? North Pole Penquins? South Pole You'll notice I refrained from discussing the sexual preferences of some Polish people! |

Captian Ron, that author is quite right. If you take a bi-polar poet a step further and give them what is called rapid-cycling, they actually get a ton of new thoughts constantly that can be controlled through medication, but trust me they won't be stopped.  They receive one thought right on the heels of the last, so try juggling that all day.  Some of the greatest writers and poets were bi-polar as you know. If you check the left hand side for famous people on this great site on the internet, I think it is quite amazing, http://mixednuts.net/home.html Maybe we all have to be a little crazy to really "feel" life? You think? Just look at the impressive list of people here: http://mixednuts.net/depression-famous2.html As for the Tao, which was ESP's first subject matter - I have tried to keep up daily readings of Tao most of my adult life, and respect its teachings. The natural balance of man in regard to nature is not at all a bad thing to read about. I read both the Tao, and as much as I can from native american teachings, or our first nations. I truly believe if we all got back to being "small" in the scheme of things, then balance and harmony would indeed be easily obtained.
