What's the rose
with out the bud
Or white linen
smeared in mud

Tell me the song
stuck in your head
I'll forget
what you said

while humming it
down main street
You'd laugh out loud
pointing at my feet

socks don't have to match.

That last line made me laugh.  How obsessive we all are that simple foot coverings to absorb sweat, keep off dirt, and provide base comfort MUST match, even if they are never seen by another soul.  Kinda reminds me of one of the methods of dealing with a vampire: steal one of their socks.  Then they, being extremely obsessive/compulsive anally retentative, will spend eternity searching for that missing sock.  Kinda makes me wonder what would've happened if someone stole all the matched sock pairs and left mismatched ones.

That's funny JuJu...and after reading Alicat's reply, I must be a vampire cuz all my socks have to match. If one gets eaten in the laundry the other goes to the trash. I don't think I could stand to give unmatched to Goodwill. Really like you poem.

LoL.  This is a very cute poem and one that made me laugh out loud at the very end.  It is refreshing to read a humourous poem and not one so serious.  Well done.
