This is a school assignment... we were to listen to a song and write a poem about it. Here is mine, Moonlight Sonata. This isn't my usual style, it's a bit dark, but I thought you might like to see something different. Enjoy! The moon casts its light on the tips of the trees Dead leaves dance their dance on the breath of the breeze And then, like the light that descends from the sky The spirits come down, from the bright stars they fly As the dampness of night settles down on the moor Glazing each blade of grass that is now their dance floor The couples join hands and the couples join hearts They’re all in their place as the sad music starts The moon makes the light that shines into their eyes Love known in their lives death could never deny Together once more, they have no words to say They dance in the moonlight, and dread coming of day The most pitiful spirits are swaying alone They’re waiting, still waiting for one of their own Still loving the mortals, they sway to the beat Although they’re alone, with no dark eyes to meet And all the night long as winds blow soft and slow These spirits know things that no mortal could know Hold each other while flesh still exists in your being Look upon love while your eyes are still seeing For all will eventually go to the moor We shall all take our place upon the dance floor Do not be a lonely soul, hear what I say Have someone to hold until coming of day For now, as you walk on the dark moors at night On glazed grass, under treetops engulfed in moonlight You may hear the sad music to which the souls dance Look for the lonely ones lacking romance When you see the sky brighten, signaling day At that moment when moonlight is fading away Watch closely, you’ll see spirits ascend to the sky And listen, you may hear their pitiful cry "Men judge generally more by the eye than by the hand, for everyone can see and few can feel."-Machiavelli |

Very very very very very good job! Wow! This is absolutely outstanding, Erica! I'm completely impressed! The way your style wove into this dark, romantic setting... just completely marvelous. Everything about this poem really had an incredible impact on me. The imagery was just amazing... I can't possibly praise you enough on this aspect of the poem. I saw lonely souls swaying over blades of moor grass... Just outstanding. This is going into my personal library. I think I have a new favourite from you, Erica. Keep up the amazing work. Write in this tone more often, you are obviously very good at it! ~Allan Build a man a fire, and he's warm for a day. Set a man on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life. |

*sways to the Sonata* so this is what you think of when you hear this.......we think differently but hey...what could you have expected. Well done tho. I enjoyed this. I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust. |

As the dampness of night settles down on the moor Glazing each blade of grass that is now their dance floor The couples join hands and the couples join hearts They’re all in their place as the sad music starts the references of tormented love and the moors remind me of the book Wutherig heights well written enjoyed the read. I don't know what this music makes me think of... but this is a beautiul interpretation, extremely well written. I think I shall have to think of your poem when I listen to this music now.. “One word can be magical. Imagine then, the effect of several words, together..” |

Wow Erica. You got all of that out of such a lovely piece of music? I am in awe of your talent! You are in the library for sure. ~AF~ Life is a mystery to be lived, not a problem to be solved." |
