Fresh as a flower, brighter than the hue Of spring, and dimmer than the upper clouds, Faint elements of winter fall in crowds And on the trees and city lights accrue: As each alights, each gives itself its other, Ambivalently bending to its brother. Surfaces painted have been frosted over; Concrete and iron fade, and peel away. Too bright to bear the sun's abiding ray The clouds align and mirror where they hover, A neutral scene, a quiet congregation: Life is delivered in anticipation. Very visual winter scene with the unspoken prayers for Spring's rebirth. I do like the personification of the snowflakes and clouds, moving with joyous determination to join their ilk and reflect the abstract reflection of light. Being mostly tactile, but somewhat visual, this one did appeal to both, as I could see and almost feel the chill and hear the crunch of unsettled snow. |

Pretty picture of a snowy metro area. It looks pretty, but is hell to drive in! Nonetheless, a lovely poem Oh, make me Thine forever |

I was homesick and this sure fixed it. I was born in, and lived in River Heights Bri until I was 21, and what I remember most about Winnipeg is ~ sure it was cold in winter, but the sun shining on the snow was absolutely breathtakingly beautiful in winter. Used to drive to U of M in ruts back then along Pembina Hwy. but a lot has sure changed now. LOL, yada, yada, but I sure don't miss those huge mosquitoes - no way! |

Bri, this reminded me of a winter's morning, right here too. The fresh fallen snow and the Sun shining before anyone is awake. The quiet of that is intense. Beautiful, I love this style on you too. I miss you. |

I'm never entirely sure what I'm going to do, but....I think I'm going to change my ways, and start reading only the best poets in this place....If I do, this would be a good place to start. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |
