sorry i haven't been around.....too much for me....but now i am back, and hopefully back to writing.... Glass windows upon my bedroom door grow colder Now that a tender icy breath has been placed by me Lying in my bed at night I convulse with my tears Praying you would be beside me to kiss heat into my body Yet all around me, I see nothing but a blank airless place I am losing grips with reality as I lay here in front of you Unprotected from the blasts that you have given me inside Innocent blood pours over me, it’s my own to drink a solid glass Before you steal the rest of it, and I multiply the numbers I should already be gone, because your edged words Cut me more than 1 hour ago, and still I flex my fingers Grabbing for the stillness to move and bring me somewhere For it to take my skin away, the mask I hid behind so long Why not? You have done the damage just finish me off Add me to a collection in your little white refrigerator So I will be there for you to play with when ever you please You do not see the blood stained dove sitting on your windowsill Unsoftened by your fake kiss to revive my lost soul In a pale body laying on heated sheets, in the midst of the coldest of a summers night *the bloody tide comes in on the shore, time after time* [This message has been edited by Riley (07-20-2003 02:08 PM).] |

And "take my skin away", I'll have to tell the moth about that line, she'll love it! |

Rich and powerful. Your imagery is vivid and frightening, inviting the reader to experience your own feelings as you yourself recall them. This is everything poetry should be. You rock, Ri... Bri Faith is a fine invention |
