It came in a lightning bolt;
charred my heart
leaving just enough warmth
to spark the beat.

It left in a storm
of such violent intensity-
rivers washed away
and I succumbed to wilderness;
to return?
I don’t know.

Sun appeared in blue sky;
a friend reached out.
Morning came again
and soon the dandelions
will button the lawn
and I will breathe my
life to the wind as I once
did so many years ago.

Then, I will walk along a path
somewhere deep in the forest
to embrace the haven that I bring
there with me.
The haven which is inside my soul.

A haven that knows no season
and whose breath is constant
and nurtures me.

Moon will wane, cradle and
shine and one day be full.

In that glow, I wait for the sun.

Nicely done here. I thought this was a very wonderful read. Hope to see more!

Thanks but you know something, I need to become more real in my words, I'm feeling a bit stifled in my poetry these days - thank you so much for reading!!

I too like this. But if you aren't satisfied with it, why not play around with it here? You can write and rewrite and we can talk about it...

I love this poem. The hope that radiates from it is seems to be rare these days. This was such a refreshing read. Thanks for sharing!
