Tiny children scream out Pain engulfs them Wait.... Because that’s what they do They hurt, we take it It’s in their blood Not mine, or yours Theirs.... All colors blend together Like the painting on my wall Now it’s torn Does this remind you? lash out hatred looks upon the faces they are scared you were wrong soon be gone....... hands shake to the moon as the blood pours out and we all survive on one this is who we are..... as meant to be our character white Morning mist clings to my face, and my soul opens up to you...... This one struck an eerie chord with me. I hope it gets into the book. "If my fate is to die, I must simply laugh" |

I like it.. one comment though, at the end you write "this is who were are..... as ment to be" Is that a typo? meant and we? Just wondering, because if it is, it will go into the book if you don't change it. -Lynne |

This is some great stuff, Ri... your style is nicely demonstrated here, and your underlying message, well, I'm going to read this through a few more times before coming to a conclusion. I'd rather talk to you about it than influence anyone else's reading with my own interpretation, so I'll just say nicely done. And while I don't think this is your best poem, not by a long shot, I still consider it good enough to appear in Reflections. I'm voting. Parasite "Faith" means the will to avoid knowing what is true. |
