Could Be Anywhere...

Yesterdays

Past crashes unbidden
flickers of flames
dancing, obscuring
calling out her name.
Images jumbled
nary any sense
occasionally...clears
layers fall away.
Crystalline sharpness
perfect recollection...
girls laughing, jumping
rope making circle blur.
Please, please, hang on, hang...
gone like leaves in wind
replaced with another
dropping from nowhere.
Clatter of ancient
projector spinning film
disjointed, confusing
she cries out her fear.
Knowing in her knower
bad, away...slipping away
she sees the girls
reaching, almost touching.
Pushing the others aside
desperate to hold just this one
gone...spinning away
again and ever again.
Sitting near windowsill
crying; silently, gently crying
watching things spin along
hanky catching yesterdays.

Very beautifully put.  It really is sad to watch the yesterdays fall apart and away, to be replaced with the new todays, that they might fall away as well...

She cries because today will soon be yesterday too.  You wrote this very well, I commend you.
