What need we of a symbol
A banner to raise high
Cloth woven is woven cloth
In that we cannot deny

What stitch makes it hallowed
What seam will give it glory
What pattern was chosen
To tailor the rebel story

Red for the blood we shed
White for honor’s fame
Blue for brotherhood
Of a brother with no name

March behind the colors
Salute the stitches you follow
When it’s time, remember
The cost of freedom you owe

not sure I am following what you want to convey...

the price of freedom I know is cliche, but inserted here it seems to make one meaning clear. Perhaps I am just struggling with the word cost... not that freedom doesn't have a cost and we owe that cost if we "use" the freedom or "buy" it. Guess I also get seperated from intent as the first two lines seem disconected from the last two...

Hey!!!. I've already said I wasn't hitting on all cylinders this morning...so it may well just be the Monday morning fog...and clear to everyone else...
