I wondered often what he heard in his head when his eyes would focus so intently to something just in front of him so real to see him holding up his end of a conversation just for Brother Tim. Once I had to try to touch that space just to assure myself that there really was no one there-- so I stood in front of him planting my eyes to his but Brother Tim simply re-focused and talked in murmer to the air above. Being me, and knowing Tim, I simply asked him then, "pardon me for interrupting, but just who in the hell are you talking to? Brother Tim, held up one hand as if to gesture "just a sec" and looked at me so serious and simply answered "God." ooooo-kay.... and I excused myself. I didn't want to interrupt. Tim had this way of showing up with some adventure on his mind. So I really wasn't surprised to see his truck in my drive with five lawnmowers in the back. I didn't even want to ask so I just watched from behind the blind as he pulled one over the side of the bed (Brother Tim is pretty big) and yanked that cord to start 'er up and proceeded to mow my neighbor's already-trim lawn just slightly shorter than before. He mowed in a design of every other row-- leaving a pattern of basket waiting to be woven-- and then I saw him stop, and put the lawnmower back into the bed of his red truck. Well now I had to know, so I went outside and caught him cranking the engine to depart-- "Tim, oh Tim..." I shook my head. "Why did you do that." He smiled at me and pointed up and said: "God told me to." I just sighed and said to him next time you want to love thy neighbor, get some of your own. So I was not the least surprised that he was picked up by authorities standing in the Mississipp fishing in a storm warning. I heard he tried to explain that he had authority to be there from another up above-- He was fishing for the Lord... They said he tried to explain that the reds were running and that he knew because he had this chip from the government planted in his nose, and how it made his sinuses drip when reds are running as he pointed to his snotty nose. They are holding him for "observation." I'm sure he'll give them much to see. I wonder if they'll ever look up his nose just in case... I wonder if they'll ever see anything that can explain the visions of suburban prophet-- and there was a part of me that laughed with glee when I read the paper that proclaimed Redfish are abundant now. Advising all who might partake to grab a rod and "capture the moment." After all, I thought with wink: "who nose?" * * * http://www.nola.com/archives/t-p/index.ssf?/sportsstory/venledein09.html [This message has been edited by serenity blaze (10-10-2002 12:57 PM).] |

I will sink my time and my coins into this verse, let them spin around a bit, and come back -- hoping their ain't no chip in my nose. Maybe I'll go mow the ocean? Damn I'm incoherent right now. My apologies. Love the continuation/revision/ revisitation. RedFishSquirrelFish |

My bri...my oh my--you are either the only one who followed the link, or the only one who noticed--but nothing gets by YOU--and wasn't that just the damnedest thing? *shaking my head* I told someone once, when they said they didn't believe in magick to follow me around for two weeks--and that would be all the proof they need. grinning--as yanno, stuff like this happens to me so often...I'm not even surprised anymore. (ssssh...c'mere--looking around-- --sneak attack) Ron? Thanks much for reading...and since you knew the story beforehand, I appreciate your taking the time to hear it twice. Mikey? mow the ocean...hey? well...I'll leave that up to you! Thanks. Andrew? What a lovely surprise you are--and now that I think about it, I'm sure you do wear your jeans quite nicely. Thanks for reading! and poor Tim---I do wish he'd stay on his meds...sigh. [This message has been edited by serenity blaze (10-11-2002 05:57 PM).] |
