How is the Weather? : Choka 15 Distant clouds rolling Carrying nature’s fury Along with tolling Of thunder in a hurry, Wind rips the beaches As water pulls them to sea Waves over reaches Where sunbathers used to be, In days yet to come When the weather’s wind subsides, And rain stops it drum And there’s a day of low tides Storm clouds go rolling Darkening another sky As the weather’s rolling by Return to Calm : Sonnet The trees have stopped their bending to the wind, The waves have slacked their pounding on the sands, People come slowly from shelter they’ve been in To see what has fallen and what now stands. The beaches water raped rushing waves Tears sands and houses back into the sea, Mementoes gone no thoughts they now can save; Survivors alive and content to be. Those that fled inland now slowly return, To see what raging storm’s damage had done, Some look stone face other cry when they learn What little remains and all that is gone. Slowly they one by one start rebuilding But together they remain unyielding. Gloom Actually these two were wrote separately and combined so as not to use too much space |
