From a small group of people
a revolution is born
a simple idea unspoken
a covenant found torn

A waste of tea? perhaps
but worth it for the price
of freedom of expression
but will it all suffice?

Is success to be measured
in numbers or in merit
do we speak in single voices?
or as a tutored parrot?

Rebellion isn’t easy
friends often don’t understand
but there are times that prove
it’s time to take a stand

If we don’t seek this freedom
will our collective soul perish?
will we lose the very home
that we have come to cherish?

Is it worth the risk to rock
the boat of our complacence
we may be branded fools that have
seemed to have lost their sense

Freedom is a powerful tool
a hammer lifted to strike
we put aside our differences
and learn how much we are alike

Yes! Wield the hammer! Strike complacency on the noodle (and the sauce).

Okay, stop hitting the plate of spaghetti.

I will follow this one soon, Sharon.

~grin~ of course it doesn't surprise me that you managed to weave in a reference to a hammer... as soon as i get these red sauce stains out, i'll head up right behind you (is /that/ an oxymoron? )... thanks for the lead, Sharon...
