Memories of Love

Whatever glow has radiated from the joy of love
Now casts an iridescence from the starry realm above
Eternally love’s memories are streaming from the sky
Reflecting crystal images of pleasure in my eye

Where love has left the fragrance of it’s sweetness in the air
There still remains the essence of your scent abiding there
It is in every breath of life, in every earthly space
In gardens of sweet reminisce, and heart’s most cherished place

What melodies were strung from passion in it’s pure delight
Are resonating from the harps of angels of the night
In twilight of my memory, the euphony is played
Serenading me with lullaby until the break of day

The joy of love still draws a radiant flush upon my face
As I consume the fragrance that was once in my embrace
The midnight songs still blanket me with warmth and loving peace
And starry skies reflect in tears of love that never cease

Wow very nice love poem here. Wonderfully put!

I was born myself, raised myself, and will continue to be myself. The world will just have to adjust.

Fascinating. The imagery here is wonderful. I like your vocabulary too. All around, this is a great poem.

I found this particularly comforting. It's lovely, as your work always is, but this I needed to hear this morning. Thank you, Liz.

Marvelous!  Would this be called "Iambic Septameter?"  I've never seen it before this... it works wonderfully!
Well done!

Liz, this is a magnificant piece! As Allan said, you use of the iambic feet just made the flow perfect. The imagery and emotions, however, are what makes this poem great. One for my library! Thanks for sharing.

Liz, it's always good to have those. . .

This is beautiful. . . and why shouldn't it be?  It comes from a beautiful heart. . .
