In Kindergarden, as I recall, Much effort did I give When asked to draw the house Where my family and I lived. I lived in a trailer With particleboard floor (Long, narrow and squat) More years than I cared for. But I always drew, without fail, A box house with one floor, Corkscrew smoke from chimney, Two windows, centered door. The house was red, the grass was green, The sky a brilliant blue. Singular flowers by lollipop tree; Round red apples it grew. Two things are for certain As I see what I left behind: The truth we find outside our heads, And the truth in a child's mind. This is delightful. I wonder about all the ways we used to draw our houses (where we placed our doors, windows, what we drew on the outside, etc) might have said about us and our personalities as children. I love this, Alice.... ..err..Kitten You always speak the truth in that most perfect way. For all who watch.Dare you say hello? Come in and ask the questions that are on your mind, but spare me your judgement until you truly sipped of me. |

Thank you ladies for taking the time to read and reply. I've had thoughts about how we come, as children, to 'know' that grass is green, skies are blue, trees are lollipops, and smoke always comes from chimneys at that age. Something to think about, at least... |
