State of Suspended Passion

0 posted 2002-02-13 07:25 PM

Usually I fold my arms in exasperation
when your life doesn't coincide with mine.
When our voices can't reach the distance
and only our hearts are touching
through the mists of missing loves
I usually tighten my face
purse my lips or frown my dissatisfaction
and all of this results from being spoiled.
Now when I can't reach you in hopeless moments
I have resolved that folding my arms
and pursing my lips is not the answer.
I am desperately trying to reach you
and there is only one other path
when all the others are blocked.
So
I fold my hands and place a bowed head upon them
placing so delicately my fears for you
in the hands of someone I do not turn to enough.
With a few well placed calls
and unspoken request twirls around a wheel of prayer
spoken of so long ago when my faith spoke louder than my wants and fears.
There are times when my selfishness consumed me
and now, for your sake
I am letting go of my fears for you
and giving my thoughts over to a God who doesn't abandon me
no matter where I've been, no matter who I've roamed to.
In the powerless position that distance has put me in
I can only do two things for you.
I can love you as completely as I do now
and I can combine my prayers with those who are willing
to see, that from here, you ascend
never to descend or loose hope
for I have trusted God with you
and you will go wherever is necessary from here.
Please sleep gently in His hands.
If you want my hand to hold
here it is
without condition.

I am many.

Sis, this is very pretty and moving, and I am thankful you a taking a better direction than prior. You and yours are in my waking thoughts, and will continue to be.

I truly love every word of this.  I feel like I accidentally walked in to a private conversation.  I like very much the way this is written and like the way you've given your troubles over to God.  Yes, very nice work here.  Thank you!

This is the truest type of love, to give all, without condition.  I know that your hand is being held right now, by another who also offers his hand the same way.

Thank you.
