                          A Valentine Occasion

                          I will not shun your trite invitation
                          nor dismiss it with another platitude
                          but you must follow my parrot's lead
                          and cross the stone bridges
                          which we once laid
                          back to that expensive Victorian house
                          and its many painful memories.

                          When you have arrived
                          we will turn down the blue featherbed
                          and light the room with candles
                          so we'll not betray the experience
                          in my smile
                          and we will illuminate the twinkle
                          in your eyes.

                          Then we will fill the hollows
                          of our empty bastions
                          before they implode.

I do happen to be a fan of "strange" (Go figure, eh? lol)

I loved this. Filling the hollows of our empty bastions. Hmmm...
