AT WAR WITH MY HAIR I'm only in my late 20's And something bothers me so. I'm constantly pulling out my hair – What strange behavior – I know. There is a reason behind this And it's not what you may think. I do not have a disorder And I don't take drugs or drink. The hairs that I pull out Are different than others in my head. They are a different color, But not blonde or black or red. When I go to beauticians, As they cut my hair they say, "I hate to say this, but did you know you have hairs of gray?" At the young age of seventeen I saw the first gray hair appear. I have dyed my hair many times. The gray hairs just multiply each year. I've pulled and pulled and pulled, But more gray hairs I always see. Maybe I should just accept it, And let those gray hairs be. Stacy Smith |

My kind of writer! Straight and to the point! Leave those gray hairs be! Welcome to Passions! Please check your E-mail for a special Greeting! Karilea If I whisper, will you listen?... I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound. [This message has been edited by Sunshine (02-13-2002 02:38 PM).] |

Cute, and hey, I gotta love the gray hair--I think of it as a kind of badge for survivors! Besides, it's a great gothic look! Thanks for the smile, and welcome to Passions! |

I loved the poem.... i had to laugh... at age 36 I am having the same problem... to colour or not to colour... that is the question.... and I am sooo glad that you had the inspiration to write about it. Bravo!! Cherish the good memories past and look forward to the adventure called Tomorrow. |

LOL, I can just see you trying to pull out those greys. Leave'em be...would you rather be bald? No, I didn't think so. What a humorous first post. Welcome to these blue pages, which are covered with grey haired poetic postings. |

Welcome to our humble abode. Gray hairs are optional (kids give them to you so watch out!). I enjoyed your poem and look forward to reading more from you. |

Wonderful first post Stacy....Good to see you here, by the way, I got the book, it is magnificient!!!(Not because some of mine are in it LOL) You did a fabulous job of editing it dear friend!!!About the grey hair,I too started at the age of 18, told myself it was wisdom showing through at a tender age...whether it's true or not I don't know..made me feel better though!!! email me if you get the chance, I have a few questions about the publisher. Welcome to Passions, Stacey... I think you should let it grow in grey. Grey hair with a young face often looks very attractive....just ask Stevie (Sodpossum) He's only 32 and he has more grey hair than his Mama (North Carolina Girl)Juanita copyright2002 Lyra Nesius |

Great first post and welcome!!! I spotted my first grey hair while looking in the rear view mirror of my car. I was so perplexed at the thought, I had to stare at it and almost drove into the ditch!! |
