Were I to speak of yesterday
in such a way that you could hear
the wind, would it perhaps return
a moment from a by-gone year?

Were I to then speak of that year,
in such a way that you could see,
would memories of other times
come swiftly flowing back to thee ?

Not of a child with simple cares
beyond that of its' basic needs,
but deeper, so much deeper where
before did germinate this seed

of thought, were other lives begun
which may not yet have reached the end.
Whos' voices born upon that wind
might whisper to us once again?

Were I to speak of them this day
in such a way that they could be,
would those who know but rigid time
think this some form of trickery ?

Of all these questions put to you
what is the truth that you percieve,
were these my words that asked of you,
or theirs, that asked , what you believe?

Doc

I can't think deep thoughts like this and put them into such wonderful rhyme and cadance...But, I have had many thoughts of time, before and beyond in free form, and I do like the way your write.
