In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-02-13 12:49 PM

And many times,
I have written
To you, composed
A harmony of poems
In fragments of orchids
Softly falling in
Gentle touches of
Enchanting moments
Where passion and
Memories share
The warmth of night
Before mother earth settles
In
Journals I have written
How

Open windows permit, the
Ocean breeze too lightly
Caress my face, hearing
The wind dance among
Trees in faint whispers,
As the sun sets and smears
The skies lavender clouds
That dance in twilight

I've grown older to
The seasons from which
I came, dancing with
My arms open from the amazing
Distance of years

How the air smells
At three am along the edge
Of shores, that
Erases sands of time
Yet still you linger,
Among storms

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows
of my heart

and you still wonder why people love your work. . .

this is amazing. . . such a truly original line. . . and the thoughts that seem to come from an unending place of delicateness. . . makes me want to see more. . .

Lauren, you pen such beautiful words from such a beautiful heart. Your writing is so divine, a lot like my finest brandy. It warms my soul as I drift into vapor.

I love that line in particular, though all of them are wonderful.  Some of us write poetry, but like you, some of us ARE poetry.  I love this, my friend.     *hugs* and peace to you.

I love the way you actually painted this poem, Lauren.  I can actually picture this sunset and it is as beautiful as your poem.

As the sun sets and smears
The skies lavender clouds
That dance in twilight

reading your words are like inhaling serenity and exhaling contentment.
and my sister of memories that linger...you will already know what song this beauty brought to my mind ....

"I close my eyes - soft wind touch my face
Cool sand upon the place where I once kissed you
And held you close
Now I will reach for the stars
Because Oh my love, that's where you are

Chorus
Though the storms of black night rage on
I still see your face
I still feel your lips on mine
And though my heart feels all alone without you
I still hear you sing to me
I still hear your voice on the sea"

my eyes, I see it all together now ... and I know.
