Ride the winds of love.
Gather up the hearts of doves
and fly them to distant lands.
Each one please teach one
how to hold hands
instead of guns.
For the ancient story of old
is still being told,
that Love and Peace
are worth more
than gold.

Written while listening to "In a Distant Place" Native American and Tibetan flute music blended with harps and drums. Thank you Nakai, Eaton, Clipman, and Nawang.

May the ripple of LOVE
become the wave of PEACE

OK, Larry. Climb aboard my magic carpet. This CD is worth searching for, ask your local store to order it if they haven't got it in stock. Then sit down and be ready for a enchantingly wonderful experience.

Startime, I am so glad you read this. And here is one for you, I have this feeling you could write a magic carpet ride poem without ever leaving the ground.

very nice-- I will have to put on some of that music and come back to this..

You have that CD? Fantastic! Right now I am listening to Kitaro, 'Thinking Of You' CD. And I'm thinking of starlight Jaime, under Colorado skies.
Isn't the 'Distant Place' awesome?

I am stunned by the sheer beauty of your words. I love Native American folk lore and their colorful language. And, I love their deep spirituality...the way they commune with their Creator through nature. This poem reminded me of all of this.  Thanks so much for sharing it.  ***Ivy Rose

Ahhh, yes, all of the nativeamerican flute music does as it is designed..and yet, this also reminds me of Peter, Paul and Mary singing "Where have all the flowers gone?"..very nicely done...very gentle smile

Ivy Rose, thank you for your kindness. The music inspires me, and then the words just seem to flow, as if carried by the winds.

Logan, thank you so much. And I sang that song myself, so many times in the past. It is still a timeless tune.

James, glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the visit.

Ah Midnitesun, my spirit is with you on this one, for as I started to read this, Phil Coulter's "Dear Sarah" was being heard...

no man who has been to war wants his son to go, today, no woman, her daughter...

a timely piece...peace...

Lyra, I'm sure you remember a similar one from the sixties. Thank you for your reply.

Kathleen, I'm glad you didn't miss it. And you are always sending sweet thoughts of Peace.

Balladeer, thanks. Flute music always brings out good thoughts.

Regina, thank you for your kind words, and I know your thoughts are also of Peace.

Hey Kacy,
While we're on that magic carpet can we swing by and watch you flee a harem on a camel? Can we?

Had to keep something going while you hibernate. My daughters a teacher...I didn't realize teachers hibernate!

Magnus, of course! There's always room for more, and you can help select the tunes.

Sudhir, so happy to see you here with your peaceful heart. I hope and pray for India and Pakistan to find peaceful solutions to  conflict.

Tracey, I guess it's a central theme with me, and will remain so as long as Peace remains a dream rather than reality. Somedays I feel that means as long as humans walk the face of the planet. But apparently even the dinosurs fought.
