on the morning
you were there
on the edge of my ocean
I watched your breast canvas
as you rode the tides to my depths
your heading was contimplated

your bow was jaunty
as you crashed my waves
you were bold of rudder
as you leaned into me
I worshiped your timbers
with my spray

and reached after you
as you continued through me
turning me under
in your wake
leaving me with moan songs
in my deep want place

I was still in the night
my tides were moon toys
that moved without direction
my eyes looked for your shape
in the reflection of clouds
you were empty wind whispering

on the morning
you weren't there
but others searched for me
their canvas breasts jutted proud
the formed lines to be my suitors
their bows were not virgin
but my waves did not have memory
