In spite of Spring The trees don't rush to bloom; nor yet, In spite of Spring, to bud. Cold barren Winter clings With icy claws-a lifeless net That captures promise, as we fret In spite of Spring. Nan |

Pilgrimage this is so so nice. I enjoyed it. Our trees and shrubs are so confused, they are going into bud, I am in cold Illinois, and yet we have had a mild winter. Very confusing for the trees. I loved this. floria Floria |

Nan, another very interesting rhyming pattern. Liked it and the hope of spring is what keeps me going. Cheryl |

Dear Floria, The trees here usually bud out in February, and then March comes with a freeze to kill them. But this year I guess they wised up. Dear Rose Petal, I'm coming to visit. I'm tired of cold. Very very tired of cold. Dear Cheryl, The hope of spring keeps you going. If that's not the start of a poem, I don't know what is. Dear Newell, I love the Spring and early Summer days, don't you? nice poem! here it would be "in spite of winter" because everything is spring-like There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar. |

Nan - The only thing I like about winter is that there is no yard work to be done. Very nice write. I really liked lines 5 and 6. Dave |

Dear Jamie, Can I come visit? I'm so tired of old cold winter. Dear Noah, You always say the nicest things-thank you. Dear Dave, I'm glad you liked it. There isn't much room in a rondelet, and you have to set it up in the first three lines, so five and six are the meat of the poem, I think. Nan |
