Betsy, the Space Alien

by Michael

Hey, did I tell you the story,
about the UFO I found?
I was looking out my winder
because I thought I heard a sound.

Though this story is quite lengthy,
I'll do my best to keep it short,
but I really got to tell you,
there are some things you don't report.

I went to see what this thing was,
with all them silly lights on it,
when out there popped this little dude.
Then, I don't remember a bit.

I woke to found that I was in
some place with lots of doctor's things.
They told me they'd make me smarter
and they did, I got more brains.

They had a woman with twelve eyes,
that was truly pretty enough,
but them things that lived in her hair,
well, that was just a little tough.

Her name, Betsy the Alien,
and tiny guys lived in her hair.
These little guys had thirteen eyes
and all they ever did was stare.

Now Betsy had a real fine shape,
but I couldn't bear them little guys,
cause all they did was talk and stare
at me with all them thirteen eyes.

They wanted to marry Betsy off,
the last of the litter that she be
and get her hitched to a smart earth man.
That's why they did that stuff to me.

But this space chick had noisy hair.
I felt it would be for the best,
to tell them where my best friend lived,
so they left and went over there.

And since that night I haven't seen
that friend that always was my best.
I heard he moved real far away,
Most likely, was some place out west.

Well, I sure do miss that Betsy.
She sure did have a pretty name,
though I know she was unworldly,
I really liked her, all the same.

Since then I don't investigate
some noise I hear in the night.
I don't go out when it is late
and I keep on every light.

(please don't critique this one, LOL)

Oh this is cute Michael. What a chuckle it has given me to send me off to bed with. I like your humorous side.

Everyone, thank you.  I'm so glad I could bring you a smile.   Sometmes I just get so tired of writing serious poetry and just want to be silly.  Silly enough?  LOL

*hugs*
