~ Changes Of Heart ~ Changes are all around us, times motion swirls it about you and me For it is inevitable, everything changes and alters, it happens constantly If you drop a stone into the river where will this stone eventually go For it won't rest on the bottom, the river will move it, this you know Time moves ever onward it doesn't, cannot stay forever the same Just like the flame flickers, time moves in flashes like that flaring flame My heart is like the fire it burns fiercely before it softly warmly glows And just like the burning embers it is much hotter than it apparently shows Look around at the frozen landscape it lies beneath a blanket of icy snow But under the pristine covers Mother Nature continues to quietly grow The grass is lying sleepily awaiting the spring when it will become lush My love is similar it will await your thaw, until then I won't try to rush Everything has its season, its own time to bear fruit, its place in the sun And when your heart and soul are ready then that will be our time begun There's no necessity to hurry nothing will change the pace of our time When that time arrives then we will both have the reasons to our rhyme To wait forever is not my hope, for I don't think that's my destiny I believe, that you are the bright future that love has in store for me When the season of you and I has arrived and we fly in united bliss I will recall secretly that I felt it in that our first friendly kiss I knew it from the first as my soul spoke secrets to your battered heart I could see it within your eyes as they begged me not to tear you apart My heart will be your sanctuary I will be there soothing your pain away I will be there waiting to help and I'll love you forever and a day Marsha I've reposted this to show the change in me. The Marsha who wrote this was sad but optimistic, and hopeful of a bright future. Well, as you are no doubt aware I'm now happier than I've ever been. Bill and Larry both ribbed me about the length of my lines this also shows them how much longer they used to be To give light to them that sit in darkness..... to guide our feet into the way of peace St John ch2 v1 |

Marsha - This definitely captures a feeling of being a little sad, yet still being able to have hope that love will come around again. Well done. I hope it nevers snows again on your beautiful landscape. By the way, can you send me your snowblower, so I can get rid of the six feet of snow that is on my landscape. Dave |

Marsha, darling girl, this poem, like you, is very beautiful. And I too am delighted that you are now happier. And for long sentences, I think they are great. I often write in 14 syllable lines. It kind of gives a slow teasing effect that demands serious reader patience, as if to say, don't hurry! Life is far too precious. Just slow down and enjoy life with me. Or at least that is how I view it. Your work is outstanding, Marsha. I love it and I love you. ((Marsha)) -newell Sharing God's Love through perfectlovepoetry.com |
