A State of Disarray

0 posted 2002-02-09 01:15 PM

A secret haunting she never shares
Lies deep within her soul
She trods mornings of backpacks and corn flakes
Before the school bell rings it's toll
On the television, commercials play
Their cadence blends in the mix
With a start she catches a phrase
And stops dead in her tracks

They found the missing girl
Face down in a knee deep stream
Then pictures of a mother stifling
Her aching, wrenching screams

Thoughts quickly recede for her
To a moment back in time
To a man a girl was tricked
Into walking close behind
His car had 50's wingtips
A taped window in the back
She imagined other children kicking
When they knew that they were trapped
He drove her home, then turned away
To an empty cul-de-sac
In mercies care she knows no more
The mind has left it black

She pulls her daughter closely now
Without a single word
Dons coat and hood, disguising curls
Against cries-"I look a nerd!"
In moments next a strained "Good-bye"
She lets go a horrid sigh
Her greatest sin she feels somehow
Is her existence, here and now
He set her free to live and relive
What can happen without warn
That child lives within this woman
Who is still that little girl

Amusemi...it hurts to feel, doesn't it?
Did this have some relevance to real life that caused you to write it?  It was brilliant, yet sort of squishes the soul to think about it.  Very very good writing.
Take care,

An all to home-hitting story that could be anyone's really.  This was a heart-wrenching story that is heard far too often on the new.  Excellent writing.

Your words of fright hit home for me.
As I have felt the pain you have clearly seen.
But if nothing else always know this.
You once again will feel bliss.
You will take back your beautiful life.
You will stand up and make that fight.
And I'll be there right by your side.
Never ever running to hide.
For if you need a true friend.
I'll be there till the very end.

*sigh* dear one,,that little girl is still crying out for you to love her...you need to go back to the little girl in you and let her know that you love her and how that it was not her fault...I know of what I speak...sigh I had to create a character to help me go back and do some hugging of the little girl in me...mmmmmm I am going to post a poem...it may seem long but ....I think you will understand it...and yes...it is from real life...**big big hugs** I love that little girl in you.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

In very simple words...Not her fault!!

I know this is hard to finally understand..

I understand it very well...one of every
six males are molested in their lifetimes..
I was one of those one of six...No...I
didn't face the terror of the captor...
the physical pain...the fear...mine was
far more innocent...though equally damaging..

I too had to learn...and learn from months
of painful memories...thinking back about
the abuse..about all of the things that
went wrong for so many years....I had a
secret too...It took me 40 plus years before
I ever talked about it...

Writing this..took great courage for you..

Thank you deeply for sharing it...I hope that
your pain lessens...and I hope that little
girl has been forgiven...for it never ever
was her fault...

Oh Mangus,

There are so many whose lives have been affected by predators...most are victimized by someone they know and that is why it is so invisible.

I am a bit embarrassed and feeling a bit naked right now...thank you Mangus for saying what you have.

It reminds me that maybe the best thing to come out of this is that when victims bring it into the light, those who are going through the healing process can see they are not alone.

The moral I guess:  Once a victim doesn't ever mean always a victim!!

I really cherish all of you...

Kat
