Rest within the land of dreaming nightmare,
Drift away to that dark being nowhere
A private existence that you can’t share,
Just closing your eyes and then you are there

An empty cave where he lays his head
The cold rocky floor is his feather bed,
Never listens because nothing is said
A mighty stone holds him as sleeping dead.

An single torment that is his to keep,
That reaches to touch during times of sleep,
Gone soundlessly and falls without a weep,
In darkness of spirit slowly will seep.

The morning returns as the day arrives,
T’is always a surprise that he survives.

Excellently dark! I could hear it in my head being recited by Anthony Hopkins.

Thank you, Poet deVine,
Is that whose voice that is?
I usually hear Vincent Price.
Glad my humble words pleased you.

Actually my first thought was Vincent Price but I was sure you are too young to remember him!
