Dreams and Prayers

A young woman kneels and prays
In a building filled with artifacts
And velvet pictures of her Savior
Lit candles of different sizes and colors
Flicker from the wind of praying souls
Giving the appearance of wavering shadows
That vanishes within walls
Her prayers are a bit selfish but reasonable
She wants a place she can call home
Not just any home
But one of great splendor!
In both beauty and peacefulness
A home in the middle of nowhere and everywhere
On the tallest hill
Overlooking a meadow of lilies and wildflowers
A place of rest and refuge
Where all guests would be welcomed
And as she prays
A heavenly figure hovers above
And observes His faithful child
Knowing that her prayers
Have not gone unheard
As He embraces her soul lovingly
And whispers a promise
Words that only the two share
It is a promise of life after death
And dreams come true
The praying figure now smiles
In both understanding and patience
While her Father descends toward the sky
To prepare her home
