The orb of night has set ‘gainst yon mount high.
Thy presence has not graced my heart, my eye.
Wilt thee not come into the light of the morn?
Doth thee see my heart at thy feet, lying torn?

I come to thee in beg of thy grace, thy beauty.
Wilt thee not show thyself for mine eyes to see?
My journ from afar doth tire me, I am worn.
Can thee not share thy bed, if only till morn?

Nay maid, tho mine heart doth love thee well.
Mine eyes shall not see thy skin, lips not tell.
Thy chastity I covet, my sin shall not touch.
I cherish  thee all, doth thee know this much?

I beg thee know thou art my one true love.
Mine soul carries thee from highest above.
Upon  rise of the morn’s sun I then beseech
till seven moons set, I remain without speech.
