Up Creek w/Out Paddle

Hands travel into the canvas
embracing by-gone May days,
unashamed of the years her
wrinkled skin expresses.

Blue, raised veins and swollen joints
move with renewed vibrancy.
Her love of life is brushed
with sculptured nails; age spots
match the coarse linen.

Confidently,
fingers stroke the shade of laughter
as memories spill from a heart
that will not forget.
