Kalija the wooden Indaian Kalija was a wooden Indian discarded in a dump one day Wasn't wanted any more, so they just threw him away Kalija was found lying in some rotten clay by Daisy Mae Daisy Mae jumped for joy for Kalija was just the boy That she'd been looking for, along her way. So Daisy Mae took Kalija home and cleaned him right Painted all his faded colors nice and shiny bright Worked all day and half the night to make him smile like long ago. Daisy Mae said Kalija you know I love you so I'll always be your Indian maid; I'll never let you go. She placed Kalija outside her window, where she could watch him more On the patio floor in a shady spot she thought that he'd adore. Kalija could not talk, his head and heart were wood But somehow Kalija knew that this was very very good Cause now he's home with an Indian maid forever there to stay And Kalija the wooden Indian is in love with Daisy May. Newell darling boy this is soooooooooo fabulous I love it, the story of how love will always find a way. Wonderful writing and I love it love it love it, Utterly utterly terrific writing, I love the story in this it’s one of those ones with deeper and more meaningful layers than at first appear. Thank you, Madame! Yes, Kalija was a song written and sung by famous country singer Hank Williams, who died tragically on tour when he was only in his twenties. And of course Daisey Mae was Lil Abner's girl friend in the comic strip.
