Sometimes I keep my heart
Strictly under lock and key
So that others cannot see
This person I've come to be

Sometimes I feel uncomfortable
In expressing the way I feel
But writing has certainly helped me
As many feelings have been revealed

The poets here at Passions
Have welcomed me with open arms
I feel like part of a family here
Feeling safe and free from harm

Most of those who are close to me
Don't even know I write
I make a point of keeping
My pens and paper out of sight

Somewhat shy am I to reveal
My true feelings and inner self
Some think those things are fiction
Found in some book upon a shelf

How surprised I think they'd be
If I let my feelings known
But for now I think I'm more comfortable
Keeping this part of me unknown

(big hugggsssssss) Oh Sue, I know just how you feel, for I feel the exact same way! I love my family so much, but I rarely share my words with them just so I'm kind of shy around them! (sigh) We all love you so much, sweet friend, I'm always so happy to read your gorgeous words here, as we all are, we all love you soooooooo much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Sue, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Sue,
I have a friend who also hides his gift in the secret places...it doesn't make it any less a gift and if it is needed...

Sue, it is too beautiful a gift to hide.. but I do understand that some people don't appreciate poetry and think it silly. I have to deal with this too....don't hide it sue, write, post, tell, it's too good to hide. floria

Oh, oh, oh!  If only I could have written these words. They are spectacular and echo my sentiments exactly. Rarely do I share my writing with anyone and it is only because of Marge Tindal's encouragement that I am here at all. Please continue to write and post  when you are comfortable. Hugs, Marti

that's beautiful

and maybe you are right
because i've held a pen
which cast a light
on what ifs, thens, or whens
intends of heart and though
i was a part of all my dreams
to write my soul in view,
makes me now wonder
if perhaps
the things
you say
are true.

Sue,
Well...most of those are pretty sexy writes! But none-the-less wonderful as are you. Hope you find the courage to reveal your poetry. However, I must say...you get your best responses right here (at least I do). A very well expressed write, I enjoyed.

I hear this, I feel this, I understand this from the deepest corners of my soul and psyche. It's as if you pulled the words from my own heart and inner being. Ya know, I always read what you post, even if I don't always reply. We are sisters, you and I.

Sue, this sounds a lot like me.  I seldom share what I write with family and friends.  This is just my little outlet...my thing to do, that I enjoy.  It's enough to be able to share here at Passions for me.  Good write as always!

Oh Sue, You are certainly a found treasure for all who read you.  Your pen is your true spokesman for the inner beauty you possess.  I'm sure some of this can't help but spillout of your inner inkwell to your daily life because you have such an abundance of love to share.  In time I'm sure, little by little, your talent will be exposed to those around you.  But for now, please keep writing for this family.  Your good friend, Roger
