A new day, feeling grateful, full of promise for me, A plan, a crash, is it real what I see? My first thought is "oh God" please lead them all out, Then again, it can't be, now there's really no doubt Standing proud in the skyline symbolizing our land, The glass and steel towers built to endure and withstand, In an instant, a perfect plan about to unfold, Sends what message to our country a tragic sight to behold Twin towering infernos now melt to the ground, The lives they will take never meant to be found, Their loved ones still hopin photographs soaked in tears, All that's left are the memories heart sewn over tears Tireless digging and searching by man and best friend, Defines the spirit and glory across this great land, It won't be forgotten the lives we have lost, We must honor their spirit regardless the cost Red, white and blue waving with stars at half mask, Is it love for our country or acknowledging the task, Should we go? I can't answer, I won't have to go, Let's just ask our forefathers I'm sure they will know Peaceful eyes of our soldiers now faces of war, Called away from their families to settle our score, Shared tears, fears, daily prayers, broken heart, I know it's not much but today that's my part All Americans know that our freedoms not free, I understand very clearly there's a cost for me, I have read of lost soldiers and victories won, For me, An American Woman, will the cost be a son? |

Is that a cost any of us want to pay? Well done, thank you. What light through yon window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun. |
