Suspended Animation Long in promise, fate decries A coming of immobilization Heaving heavy waves of white Having long crossed most Of this great nation Having awaited this moment to perceive Tinkling sleet hit cold ground From spring of yesterday To winter’s lament this eve Come, I plead, Implore! Come! I need this shell of frozen crystal to cover My soul so my dormancy Does not yield a weakened Flower come spring… I need to sleep with the seemingly Dead for just a while, waiting To be bear-hugged to life In eons melt ~ For seasons to pass green one to Another in calmer, smoother climes Is one thing, passive resistance Leading to no conceptual change, And we do not know why we age… But where seasons wrench us from Hot to cold, Smooth to rough Allowing an edge of life to meet us Full in the face As we test our mettle While our resolve abounds in the can-do Attitude of survivors And we hang, suspended, a frozen Animation of promise In a crystal shell Waiting for the sun to rainbow us Into tomorrow. ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 29 January 2002 |

BRAVO!!! Such a haunting but beautiful vision, sweet friend, these winters will always come to give us strife when we least desire it, but the rainbows will continue to cast on as the seasons come and go through our heart and spring will again emerge from yesterday and be ours to roll around in today! (kiss on cheek) This is fabulous, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Karilea~A wonderful read on the eve of a winter storm watch! I can't wait! And this piece just made me more excited...I need my dormancy, to reflect, and write, and know that winter really was here, and I made it through to yet another spring. Thank you for this one tonight! ~Hugs, Nancy~ ~Time has cast a spell on you, |

This was just so beautiful and a site I see so often you described better than Nature herself. Hmmm, but the shovelling is a getting to be a real drag here! I loved it, and thank you fram a Gramma being held captive ~* Carpe' Diem *~ |

And another foot or so coming your way. Might be a while before that rainbow shows up |
