Silver Sands

You were there in misty mornings
In the purple dawning haze
In the Capricorn of summer
On those hot and steamy days

You were there on silver beaches
In the yellow afternoon
Where the sand turned into golden
Just before the rising moon

You were there when eveningstar
Illuminated pathways on the crest
Of the bay where sails of linen
Billowedhomeward toward the west

It was there beneath the Southern Cross
Our paths met face to face
At the crossroads of a youthful dream
And splendors of a place

On the waves of pure enchantment
Looking back toward the town
Of mosaic hillside houses
Golden steeples on its crown

We had sailed the crimson sunset
Toward a destiny unsure
In a Flying Dutchman’s vessel
That was lost forevermore

Now my eyes betray my vision
In the sparkling morning frost
Where I see the silver beaches
And the golden love we lost

Elizabeth,
now my eyes betray the vision...what a perfect line as is the rest.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

Very lovely!

And when I read the lines:

Where I see the silver beaches
And the golden love we lost

I think of God painting our life full of silver beaches and painting with gold to glow all of the love He gives us. Truly, all love is golden! And our jewelry chest should be full of love's jewels.

*sigh* I sighed with pleasure in the reading until the last when I felt the tears gather in my eyes....I pray love is not lost for you. **big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

You sure gifted me in my world of chaos of being a Gramma held captive this morning! Thank you for some tranquility.

Love may be lost, but it has never been for naught. This is breathtaking, Elizabeth! Sure wish I could write like you too!
