“Where do poems come from?” a stream ripples a tree whispers in the wind a gull rises and dives skirting the shore for sustenance or play a raven cries into the night a mournful tune, a soliloquy, moonlight rests across a pond or snow-covered meadow a baby gurgles echoing joy a puppy romps upon a demon sock a kitten snares a snake of yarn a child’s finger throbs a-splinter a bluebird’s song serenades with lullaby you smile your smile and wipe away my tear and poetry is born in the heart of me ©January 29, 2002 Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
