In Your Poetic Mind

0 posted 2002-01-29 10:41 PM

I went to bed alone again,
My fears erased, to sadness
Death is unfair isn’t it?
The wondering, and the why’s
A word we speak in passing
A feeling that leaves us empty,
A feeling with so much impact

I read aloud by candle light
Words of a deep heart,
I wrote in verses along golden edges,
Watching wax drip its tears among
My soul
My journals full; another page
Journeys into series, gently placed upon
The wooden shelves of season

I laid my head in my hands,
I wept
I feel selfish in my thoughts
Wanting to make love to you
To again feel passion, desire, anything
Remembering how life
Breathes beauty

I can not make this about myself
Not now, maybe not ever
I need to grieve,
I can’t
I need to cry,
I am overwhelmed
If you held your arms out
I’d run
Would I need to ask; hold me?
Could you?
Press me close to your heart
Let me cry?
Just listen?
I need release from this
Endless path

Humbled by life,
Seeking strength in faith

Step through the
barrier of my mind,
enter my soul,
feel my desire,
let my eyes guide you
into the shadows
of my heart

not meek in any sense of the word. Powerful words in a time of sorrow. And if this is real I am sorry, but you are right it is not about you. J

Lauren~You have so much going on in your life now....believe in the words you have penned above.  Put this into the hands of a higher power.  This piece just aches and I wish I could hug you tight and let you cry it out.

Take care of YOU~
Nancy.

*sigh* seeking strength in faith is what will get you past the grieving...you need to take all the grieving steps that you may let your heart begin to heal...my heart goes out to you....for this is the kind of loss only you can understand...**big big hugs**

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Lauren, this is a sadly beautiful poem...tears seem to seek from every word.
I hope this is not about yourself...but if it is, please be comforted.  Time does heal.
If you need to talk, please email me...I have been through the death of my first husband...almost 3 yrs ago and my older son a year later.  I am a good crying shoulder, so please don't hesitate to contact me.

There are times and places for release ... none are meek. They are our questions and answers, our thoughts and actions, our tears and smiles.
The power of your work astounds me, and shares its building strength.
With my deepest ... always.  Craig

Your heart beats loudly in this. I hope you do not mind, I used the title in a medley.

Lauren, this quietly touched me.  Hon, the healing takes time, the faith comes from within....and you are indeed one of the strongest women I know.  As always.....I am here for you sweetie.  Heart hugs from mine to yours.

Greeneyes, this tore into my heart. It brought tears. why is it that the one that leaves this earth is the one who would be our biggest support? so then the love is gone and the support is gone. I know only too well, of loving someone, and of them being your best friend..I am so sorry. I am speechless at what you wrote, It is truly exquisite. floria
