I know this isn't my normal topic but I felt compelled to write it...I hope you enjoy the message it contains.

Come On My Magic Carpet Ride

Come sit beside me as we fly
to lands as yet unknown
And feel sad tears of clouds up high,
soaring the skies alone

A world in pain below us flows
filled with warring nations
Blood is shed by those who oppose
even one’s relations

We see clearly the blood of youth
flow crimson in the streets
They try to hide from us the truth
murdering soul repeats

A world where hate now rules the day
and love’s no longer shown
Please listen to what mothers say
and hear their heartfelt moan

The loss of innocence so dear,
priceless beyond compare
So many live a life of fear,
they're lost in dark despair

Come on my magic carpet ride
and see the world below
Put away our anger and pride
and love to all bestow

Not your usual topic? Well, if Love is the key, it is always flowing from your pen. This is wonderful, Karen. I am so glad you responded to that suggestion. And I will ride on that carpet with you any day. I'll even bring extra milk and cookies.

*giggling* I never even looked at it that way...I was just able to feel the emotions of sadness as I looked at our world and what is happening to it...**big hugs** oh yes...the milk and cookies sounds just perfect...if only we could get others to see and feel what is going on.

Love I leave with you whether it is in your life now or yet the essense of your dreams.

Startime, I love the idea of flying through the skies, but I'd rather look up than down. I believe that all of the pain on earth will some day be corrected. Good spirits will fly! Others, die. So why now just fly looking into sunny skies?

Love this Karen....and it still utilizes your central theme of 'Love.'  If there is room for one more on that magic carpet...perhaps I can hop on?
Enjoyed this one and the message it conveyed.

As long as this is a magic carpet and no one can see us...because I am afraid that there are many countries that hate us and would try to shoot us down...when you stop and think about it no country wants others interfering in their internal affairs...the bottom line is when they ask for our help they are only talking about financial...must be the money...James

Bravo! Bravo! If only we could ride on a magic carpet and see clearly the perspective of hatred, anger and killing. We would live in a much better world - a world filled with love and peace. Thank you for writing this - I truly enjoyed it.

Karen...I can see that you surely were
inspired...and that your thoughts are true
thoughts from a loving heart that wants
harmony and peace in the world...May the
winds of love and peace fly you there...

Hi Karen. Found myself getting too serious so I reread your beautiful poem, ...

Reading your words:

Come on my magic carpet ride
and see the world below
Put away our anger and pride
and love to all bestow

All I could think of was Wheeee! I wanna go for a magic carpet ride. So here I am. Whee!
Can we fly higher? What's that speck down there? O the earth, you say. Kinda small isn't it? Wheeeeeee!

Karen,
I love this poem! Excellent write. But while we are up there and overwhelmed...could we lighten the mood and fly by and watch midnitesun flee the harem on her camel? Huh, could we?

Karen, what a beautiful message. There is so much pain and hurt in this world. It would be so wonderful if our children never had to suffer.

This is simply beautiful. You couldnt write less than beautiful if you tried. I would love to ride on a magic carpet, if it stayed just a few feet off the ground. Kind of afraid of heights. LOL.. lovely Karen. floria
