Measurements of Time quote: Measure me well then, take my whole worth Let me greet the sky, then bury me in earth Allow me to reach all, finding forever in your face Remember me always warm in your embrace. Let me encircle you, as I have thus been done In radiance you alight as if beset by sun There! The glow, expressions of shining evermore Are found again in this simplicity of adore. Take then my seasons; let spring meet summer’s rays Bask in our love tenderly; let it fill all of our days. For in the simple task of opulent love, my dear, Find you always that it was within your very hear. From our thunderous summers, we shall stroll to fall, Measuring time more carefully as we see this is our all. Youth portends ignorance, and ignorance was bliss, Yet allowing travel forward, giving us all this. Now allow the winter winds to caress our memories As we hear swift rustling of all of our falling leaves Do you find the sun again in the brilliance of green eyes? Do you feel the warmth again of all you realize? Measure me well then, take my whole worth Let me greet the sky, then bury me in earth Allow me to reach all, finding forever in your face Remember me always warm in your embrace. ©Karilea Rilling Jungel 26 January 2002 [This message has been edited by Sunshine (01-26-2002 03:51 PM).] |

I just told someone that reading for inspiration is a wonderful thing, and moves a person to change, growth, renewal, all of that. Often times well, most of the time I will choose to read a poem by the title, but usually the author I guess if they have touched me or moved me in the past. This one did all of that and more. It's a meaningful poem for me, personally, tells me to slow down, allows me to reflect on the seasons and what they mean and why they are. The poem puts time in another dimension, one that should be working for us and not against us. There really is no urgency except to hold each moment and relish them as they pass. That's what I got out of this poem and thank you for it! now, as I told someone a moment ago, I am out the door, it's sunny and 60 degrees almost here in Indianapolis and that don't happen often in January. Beautifully composed Karilea ... this piece flows delicately from line to line with such lovely phrasing. Very much enjoyed! Best wishes, /Kit |

BRAVO!!! Wow, I just love the words of Kahlil and how they inspire you to write such gorgeous poetry like this, this is soooooo wonderfully expressed! (sigh) May we embrace each season and cherish the remedies and gifts each one offers us with love! (kiss on cheek) This is wonderfully expressed, sweet friend, we all love you so much! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karilea, thank you for sharing! May love and light always shine upon you! Love, Noah Eaton |
