When I first started writing eight months ago after losing my son, It frightened me, I didnt know where it was coming from. After writing about four poems I wrote this one.

********************************

My Inner Soul

Never flowing before from me
Now words don't seem to stop
I don't know where they come from
They all just seem to drop
I sit at my computer
My fingers at the keys
Not thinking of a word to say
Then my mind does seize
I am no longer in control
I write with all my inner soul
And when I finish all I see
Is all the love I have for thee
My son, George

In memory of my son George
I love you and miss you so.
Your loving Mom

Floria, this is a lovely poem, it says a lot, amazing that you could write so well in the midst of such a sad time.
I did not know about your son, please accept my hugs, and sympathy.

they come spilling out, along with the tears, words that do not process, really, just spill and flow out of the profound burden of love upon which we can no longer see nor touch their target, they just spill, unleashed along with the opening the wound has created

beautiful expression of what's happened to your, your heart, your soul

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Hello Floria

Your words said exactly what I feel when I write. My writing began after my father died and came like a bolt out of the blue.  It has become a passion for me and is also very much a bearing of my soul.  Many people don't even know that I write and I have found my writing to be a great release for me.  Let your beautiful words continue to flow and allow us to enjoy words from your kind soul. I am so sorry for your loss and I have no doubt that George would be so proud of his mother and her wonderful achievements.

Take care.....Sue

Sue, thank you so very much for your kind words. I am sorry that you lost your father. Isn't it strange how writing will just come out of you after a trauma. I never wrote a word in my life. I do paint. I paint in oils, but I have never written a word. It just happened, and I am so glad it did. The only heartbreak to me is that although I have three other grown children and of course my husband, My son George was my cheer leader. He most admired my work, and he was my best friend. thanks for the kindness. floria

Hi floria!

Thanks for sharing your beautiful tribute to George. I'm sure that he is watching and crying tears of happiness with you, knowing that a day will soon come when the two of you will again be together. Just stay close to God and your spirits will join as you share God's glories together.

I am truly sorry about your son. I am new to this board and just feeling my way around and trying to read each day's new poems. As a mother myself, I cannot imagine anything worse than loosing a child. I hope writing and expressing your feelings helps a little and brings you some comfort. Marti

Floria...you keep this up...and I am going
to write one about my mother who died at
40 years of age...only 23 years into mine..
I miss her greatly...

I know the feeling of it just pouring out..
I have had those days...when they just
poured and kept on...Days when I wanted to
post ten poems instead of just two...

George will love this poem...that I am sure
of...I do too..

I am so very proud of you, Floria...
I know what its like to lose a grown child.
Its the hardest thing in the world...but you have found a measure of solace through your writing and that is very important!
And you do such a wonderful job that I am sure that George is proud to be your inspiration.

Floria, my heart goes out to you, and I empathize with this kind of grief, as I too have had quite a year of losses.  When I sit and write out that pain it is like a huge weight off of me.  By sharing your heart and heartache, so many are touched, and what a healing process.  This was a beautiful tribute to your son and from the Mother of an only son, I can't even imagine your pain, may he lift you when you are down.
