play Fantasi Wolfgang Mozart

~*~A Path With No End~*~
© Mysteria January 2001

I gazed at the painting in her hall,
one of many hanging upon the wall.
In sudden repose it held me there,
as if by magic all I could do was stare.

A simple scene hung on a piece of string,
of a blossoming forest depicted in spring.
It had a sense of absolute tranquility.
fixating me in its touch of pure serenity.

Staring at this picture it would seem
a scene from a simple dreamer's dream.
A cottage jutting out from behind a bend
on a path that seemed to have no end.

I found myself walking on the forest floor
and felt my hand rap upon the door.
A friendly voice called out from within,
'Won’t you enter dear, please come in.”

Once more I am staring at a wall
At a picture that hangs in her hall.
What is this house just beyond the bend?
Who walks this path that has no end?

A scenic picture hanging upon the wall,
colorful forest depicted in the fall.
It had a sense of absolute tranquility.
Again, it held me in its touch of serenity.

I envy the artist who can paint a dream
to make others see what they have seen.
There are but two things I have to know
Where’s this dream and how far must I go?

Mysteria,
Purrfect in every way.

Here in the midst of my lonely abyss, a single joy I find...your presence in my mind.  Unknown

The "trailings" of this is absolutely beautiful, and you bring that to the forefront, which allows the reader to look beyond the path, and see the trailings in the winding limbs, the waterfall, the horizon...

one of your best...

One small change:
quote:
I gazed at the painting in her hall,
one of many hanging upon the wall.
In sudden repose it held me there,
as if by magic all I can do was stare

change line 4 to "could"...

Thank you Nan and Sunshine - I wrote with a dear friend in mind   and yes, behind every door there is another dream!  Thank you for understanding what I was trying to say with this one.
p.s. Thank you Karila for the correction

A path like this, I hope never ends
To a mystical world, the reader it sends,
The music, the art...oh, what a perfect blend!
This truly is a treasure, my dear friend.

Thank you for sharing your talents with us, Sharon...

I admire the thought you put into this poem, dear lady. I, too, have stared at painting and woven a story around the setting or looked for insights into the painter's mind....an excellent subject for a poem

Hello Sharon

You paint perfection from your wonderful tapestry of words and this was stunning, the images so very clear and each verse flowing like a tranquil stream.  I loved it.

Take care.....Sue

Sometimes life is like a photo or a piece of art, we are drawn into it, can't get out, and when we do another dream is always there waiting!  Thanks for your wonderful comments.
