*************************************************

Since You've Gone

I never feel the sun
I never feel the rain
All I feel is pain Since you've gone.
My son , I miss you so
I never thought you'd go
Before me.
The precious years
you spent with me
I'll cherish for all eternity.

You are so loved
You are so missed

Floria, It is very hard to believe that you've only been writing for a year or more. If I posted my first poem, it would be in printed handwriting as I was twelve. It was about a donkey. My second at 15 was for my dad. I think love makes a big difference in the outcome. It shows through every line you write. The one about my dad was a big improvement for me too. I hope the pain eases with every line you dedicate to his memory. Cheryl

Thank Brian for your compassion and your hugs. and for the idea to dig out my first poem. Yes it is a nightmare undescribable to lose a child no matter the age. It just doesn't seem fair. floria

Thank you kindly Cheryl, yes, I was frightened at first, it was as if someone else was inside me writing. Now I love to write. And you are right. Deep feelings of love, passion, sorrow, I find that is what brings the words from the soul. floria

Floria...this is an amazing first poem...you probably had the gift all along, but it took the sadness of losing your son to bring it out.  I wrote my first one when I was six years old...it was about my new baby sister.
It is so stupid that I would never even let anyone see it...it was written on the inside cover of one of my Dad's poetry books (my Dad loved to read poetry)
I've written poetry ever since then...but on and off.....and since my first husband died, in May of 99, I haven't stopped writing...and I don't ever plan to.
But you...are amazing!
I hope that writing has been as therapeutic for you as it has been for me.

Madame Chipmunk,Thank you so very much. Yes, I was very fearful at first, I didn't understand "who" was writing inside me. It seemed my fingers just moved, It was eery. But I went with the flow, and today I am very grateful that I write,It has been the best therapy ever..thanks for your kind words.Floria

Thank you sodpossom, whether they are little or grown it is still very hard. A parent never imagines that they will have to bury one of their children. and the worst part is when it is sudden, without warning. thanks for you kindness. floria
