I woke this morning, only to hear, The guy next door had died. Leaving behind his wife and kids, Whom he loved with so much pride. The reason they say, that he passed away, Was only to commonly known, As a pain in the heart, which over the years Had slowly and gradually grown. His wife, you see, was the one he loved Until one day he found, Another man in his house, the two alone, Laughing and playing on the ground. In through the door he smashed, Screaming and shouting abuse, “Why me? What have I done to you” “Please just tell me the truth” “OK” she says, “Now listen to this” In a deep and sincere way “You get up, go out & leave me alone Each and every day”. “What is a woman like me to do” “While you’re at work all the time”, “I work for you & the kids...my hun” Was his one and only reply. With this they agreed to try once more, Until yesterday when he opened the door His spouse, his wife, his love he saw In bed with another, yet again, once more… ~~STEVE~~ September 1999 |

Verma, nice to meet you! This one hit me close to home, for a similar event nearly took a family member. What a sad tale, 'played' out all too often. Well written! |

That poem was good..it depends on which way u look at it...u can see it as the woman telling her husband why she did that or the husband trusting her yet being broken hearted well done! Tifferz |
