Tear open my fresh
Pour salt into my new wounds
Melt my soul down to feel everything
Take my heart away in shreds
You have left me alone
To fend for myself

You have left me devastated beyond repair
With my mind weeping within
In a cloudy mist of total confusion
Unable to respond to any stimulus
Only able to seek the pillow
Of restless thought

My mind seekd to get away
Into the world of darkness
That will forget any feelings within
But my restless body fails to stop
Quaking inside my loneliness

And when everything is lost
On clue a friend so dear
As to feel your pain grow
Comes to hold you so close
That their warmth reassures you
That the worst may be over
Allowing you to rest
With their hand holding yours

As the next day creeps into your life
A friend still stands beside you
Asleep in the chair of love
As your hand now reaches over
To rejoin the favor

Tired eyes awake in reinsuring glances
But their concern soon shifts back
To the reason some friends last a lifetime
You then reassure them in an aching heart
That the day will heal the wounds
And that the self destruction
That invaded your space
Will not remain
With the stimulus of their friendship

Scared but not broken
You learn to heal
In the sour words of others
But the music of one
Will always be there
Adding their sweet thoughts

This was so very beautiful and so very true.
Take care......Sue
