Since the accident, I hear people say,
"Everything is going to be okay"
When I hear this is want to scream.
The people who say it are on the wrong team.
My friend was taken; a part of my heart went with her.
People tell me I'll be better; I bed to differ.
That drunk driver came out of nowhere, and crashed into my friend.
At the hospital i cried, because I heard the end.
The day we burried her in the ground,
was the most heartbroken day I've ever had.
To see her there-So silent-so cold...
you won't believe the feeling
to know your friend wont come back.
no more sleepovers, no more phone calls;
all because a kid thought it was cool to drink and drive.
people try to tell you, "It's okay, you'll get over it, you'll move on, take it day by day"
Maybe if they were feeling what Im feeling now
They would know, it's not going to be okay.
'cause "the okay" would only be wehn i would have my friend back,
for the sleepovers, the phone calls, for the big friendship things.
Just go back and make that kid think.
If only it were possible, and the heartbreak would go away,
but if it doesnt happen now, then I hope it will one day.
'cause this hole in my heart is waiting to be filled.
and only then will everything be okay.

A title like this is always going to draw me into read,
What I see is a large amount of Emotion,
A touch raw, but well expressed.

emotions translated from the heart what you did very well. My sympathy with the lost of your friend, and it isn't ok indeed. Not the way it happened. Time will ease the pain, that's a fact but till than your pain needs to go out. I wish you strength and hope that your good memories will guide you in your painful strife.

Chrissy, so sorry for your loss. I lost a friend in a car accident when I was 16. I never forgot, and it was a LOT of years ago.
Peace

I don't know how I missed this Chrissy. No, it is not ever going to be ok. I know first hand. But you do get stronger, lean on God. You will be fine. But it is not ever going to completely go away. Not when you love someone very much and have lost them.Great poem. floria

You are right Chrissy...it's never going to be okay, but the pain becomes bearable.

Chrissy,
I'm with you. It will never be okay. But it's up to you now to show your friends life made a difference...you just did by sharing this poem, thank you. I wish I could make it better but just know that some of do care even if we don't understand.
