My Heart Of Glass

Of glass my heart is made.
With care do handle it.
For easily 'twould be to break,
And shatter through and through.
Then empty I would be.
With nothing to replace,
My heart that once inside me beat,
That warmed my blood ,
And kept me whole.
You'll shatter it,
And never more
My heart would beat.
And never more
My heart would be.

Hearts are fragile, easily hurt by deception!!It is ironic, that which is capable of such feats of strength, generate such warmth and console, and gift such security, could so easily be slain!!! An amazing post Floria!!!

Oh yes sometimes the heart feels like glass ..and sometimes it is shattered..and very sad when that happens..hugs enjoyed floria

This poem is so beautifully creative and sad.....but, I can't believe that you have a heart of glass, Floria. You strike me as a very warm person, and glass is so cold.
