I guess sometimes decisions- Are made for us by fate. Destroying our visions... With mocking jests, "Too late"! Sometimes the things we thought we had, All vanish with the dawn... As we sit and ponder, feeling sad- Around us life goes on. We will not make a ripple- On the surface of life's pond. As we slip beneath, for ever... While all eyes look on...beyond. For beyond this vale of sorrow- I wonder what does wait? It won't be much improvement, If we go by form to date. I think the man is freest- Who has no one who cares. Or ever worries o'er him- Or wonders how he fares. Those days of youthful fancy- I fell victim to are gone, I guess it's finally settled- I'll walk through this life ...alone. |

Slinger~ 'We will not make a ripple- On the surface of life's pond. As we slip beneath, for ever... While all eyes look on...beyond.' It is sad to think that one could slip beyond our reach because they didn't 'make a ripple.' I think making waves is the way to go~ So nice to see you~ *Hugs* ~*Marge*~ ~*The pen of the poet never runs out of ink, as long as we breathe.*~ |

With mocking jests, "Too late"! =================================== Gunslinger, At times, I feel, what you say here is true; Specially when life seems tough & you're feeling blue; But, it's for us to believe in life & have a positive view; For, a closing door opens a new one, for us to pass through.... thoughts well expressed.... |

Gunslinger - A heartfelt piece. I truly hope that you are not always alone. A man who puts such feeling into his work should have someone smiling softly at him across the room. Well done. Chris Life is not measured by breaths you take, but by moments that take your breath away. |
