The night reaches down to touch the white snow, From secure warmth into the cold I go, Crunching the crust of the thin ice glazing, Travels before the next day is raising. Soon will come the sun and a new day spun, Removing the night and showing what’s done. Only if all things were just Black and White. Red stains the pure snow with roses of life, Violence insane is cast from gun or knife, Buying cocaine that snow which is not cold Except for bodies strewn that won’t grow old. Innocent travels now life unravels In drama of night that no one now tells; Only if all things were just Black and White. Mercy cries to stop the beating she takes, No one rushes to help before she breaks. White powder killed and now there’s white cover, Senseless abandon takes yet another. What colors of gray are meeting the day, Not a pretty sight when begun this way, Only if all things were just Black and White. Gloom |

'Tis sad when grayness paints the white, tinting pure to dirt. The beauty of the world is lost, when cries beat out in hurt. Insane, this life, the travels of, when "use to be's" were kind. No longer world of black and white, stained gray now, shades the mind. Lady Ollyne "O, learn to read what silent love hath writ: To hear with eyes belongs to love's fine wit"...Shakespeare [This message has been edited by Lady Ollyne (01-21-2002 09:15 AM).] |
