If I should ever cease to love
don't bother counting beat of pulse,
for even in my death I shall
rebuke the cold in pure repulse.

Even in my death I'll find
a way to stoke a passion's fire.
If I should ever cease to love,
you'll know my soul's expired.

And even now my very soul
lies beyond my mind's control,
I cannot conquer her at all.
She dances in the shadows tall.

The day that I do cease to breathe,
know that you're a part of me
as I become the wind and rain.
Know you, that I love again.

"as I become the wind and rain.
Know you, that I love again." -- Outstanding ending to a gorgeous and loving piece of work.  Well written serenity, this is beautiful!

(smiles) Ooohhhhhhh...this is sooooooo beautiful, I love it! (kiss on cheek) It's as if the Mardi Gras is a metaphor for a time of great colorful joy and true love! (smiles) May this celebration always shin ein your heart and fill you with inspiration and rapture! We all love you so much, sweet friend, you are a delight to us all! You have such a beautiful heart, sweet Karen, thank you for sharing!

May love and light always shine upon you!

Love,

Wonderful!  And my favorite, most memorable verse is the first:

"If I should ever cease to love
don't bother counting beat of pulse,
for even in my death I shall
rebuke the cold in pure repulse."

Not only do I find it beautifully-phrased, but a satisfying read, as well - it fits the eye, and begs to be read aloud.  Terrific!

Now that is love indeed, to love someone even beyond this word. I once had a friend read my palm, and I have a short lifeline, but a very long love line. I took that to mean that I would love a certain person even beyond the grave.
Nice tribute for the Mardi Gras celebration. I’m going to New Orleans soon, but definitely not during Mardi Gras. Too busy for me...though, I would like to see what the guys do for beads

If she who dies with the most toys wins, then can I have some toy boys please?

Thanks everybody! This un' was inspired by the carnival theme song, "If I Cease To Love"--and we are getting ready to kick off a raucous Mardi Gras season, with Superbowl sandwiched inbetween! Ya'll all come see me! (I'll be the one wearing beads!)
Love you All!
